Carludovia Sp.

Hard to find. Carludovica sp. refers to species in a small tropical genus often mistaken for palms, though they’re actually relatives of cyclanths. The most familiar member is the plant used to make Panama hats. Leaves emerge tightly rolled and unfurl dramatically, giving the plant a lush, sculptural presence.
