***BOTTLING LATE APRIL, SHIPPING SHORTLY AFTER*** Rosé may be everywhere, but most of it only looks the part – the category’s popularity has flooded the market with mass-produced pink wine, most of it made in enormous volumes from fruit that was never actually grown with Rosé specifically in mind. Serious high-end Rosé, built with purpose beginning from the vineyard? Surprisingly rare. Given the scarcity of the truly good stuff, we get quite excited when a chance to land one is on the table. Among North Coast winemakers, optimism around the 2025s is high for good reason: growing conditions were outstanding. Long hang times with no major heat events resulted in even ripening, and the stage is set for a classic vintage reminiscent of 2019 – wines of exceptional depth, freshness, and age-worthiness are expected across the board. Rosé releases are an excellent early bellwether for vintage quality, and today’s find is a gorgeous introduction to 2025, straight from one of wine country’s signature Rosé producers! Lot 589 is a purpose-built, 100% estate-grown bottling from an apex site – many years ago, our source selected some of the coolest rows in the appellation to grow world-class Pinot Noir specifically for Rosé wine. With the proper terroir secured, their master winemaker wasted no time establishing a benchmark program for Rosé across all of Napa and Sonoma. Grapes for this Provençal-colored beauty were harvested early to lock in acidity and capture vibrant aromatics, and skin contact was carefully timed to preserve freshness and build subtle complexity. Sold at $45/bottle from the source! Our price: $19/bottle! 2025’s cold, wet winter replenished soils, while the skies parted for bud break and flowering right on cue, leading to a healthy fruit set followed by one of the coolest summers in recent memory. As harvest approached, chilly nights preserved acidity, and warm, clear days nudged the bunches toward complete ripeness. Our source’s vines roll across hills by the San Pablo Bay, planted in thin soils and bathed in overnight fog. These Pinot Noir grapes are bursting with freshness and energy, fermented and aged in stainless steel to evolve into one of those rare Rosés that showcase a sense of place. A shimmering pale salmon on the pour, the wine opens with a focused nose of wild strawberries and dried herbs, gradually giving way to florals and wet stones. An expressive, juicy palate bursts with apple skin, watermelon, and additional herbs before unleashing a streak of minerality and a clean bolt of acidity. Long, resonant, and layered, a sublime finish transitions from mineral persistence to delicate apple blossoms and flecks of vanilla, with a lingering umami that keeps pulling you back. 13.3% alc
