'Susanna’
Trebbiano & Malvasia Toscana, Lazio, Italy A vibrant orange straight out of a cottage-core fairytale, set on the beautiful hills above Bolsena, northern Lazio. Gazzetta is a passion project founded in 2018 after winemaker Trish Nelson finished traveling the world. Earning a degree in sustainable agriculture, she continued to pursue her passion for wine by working for some natural Italian wine giants (Ciao, Cantina Giardino! Ciao, Le Coste!), and eventually starting her own, heartfelt project. Trish works organically, using herbal teas made from local plants (think stinging nettle, dandelion, willow & chamomile), while focusing on biodiversity and poly-cultural cultivation. FUN FACT! The nearby Lake Bolsena is one of Europe’s largest volcanic lakes, with the surrounding area combing evocative volcanic soils and a microclimate nuanced by the heating and cooling of this large body of water! The blend of young-vine, first-pick, citric and nutty trebbiano, with wafting and musky malvasia toscana spend three days on skins for tickling tactility. Palest apricot + pulp, an ashy haze of minerality, honeysuckle, under-steeped oolong, naval orange zest & clove dust. Enjoy with capocollo and fresh mozz!
