Montreal Shoebox

2026 Architecture can be perplexing in Montréal. First, there is the omnipresent "triplex", typically 3 storeys high. Remove the top floor and you have the "duplex", basically a town house with a neighbour. Downsize again and your home will be called a "shoebox" (even by the francophone population).
