Denise (Dee) Copland Denise (Dee) Copland is regarded as one of the most skilled contemporary printmakers in New Zealand. She graduated from Ilam School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury in 1977 and has lectured at both the School of Fine Arts, Canterbury University and at the School of Art and Design CPIT. In her work she has explored her interest in human ecology and the geographical and maritime histories and the effects of climate change in the Southern Hemisphere. Questions of survival and the tensions created between nature, humanity and culture are underlying themes. Her work is held in significant public and private collections.
