ePropulsion eSSA Battery Isolator 96VDC (200A / 300A) The eSSA Battery Isolator is the main safety disconnect and circuit protection for a 96-volt ePropulsion battery system. It combines a manual disconnect switch and a fuse holder in one compact, high-current unit — letting you fully isolate the high-voltage bank for service, storage, or emergencies, while built-in fast-acting fuses guard the system against short circuits. It's a core safety building block for any larger eSSA install. What it does Manual high-voltage disconnect — a switch rated to interrupt up to 300 A of load current, so you can safely cut the propulsion bank from the rest of the system. Short-circuit protection — a built-in DC fast-acting fuse protects the system if a fault occurs. Selectable fuse rating — configure for 200 A or 300 A; both fuse sets are included in the box (two 200 A and two 300 A). High fault tolerance — 15 kA rated short-time withstand current. Compact & easy to install — ideal for space-constrained engine spaces that still need robust circuit protection. Matching the fuse to your motor Fuse choice depends on motor power: the 300 A fuses suit 20 kW and 40 kW motors (X20/X40, I-40, POD 20), while the 200 A fuses suit smaller 10–12 kW motors. Using a 300 A fuse on a 10–12 kW motor may not adequately protect the cable, and a 200 A fuse on a 20–40 kW motor will shorten fuse life — we'll confirm the right fuse for your system. Specifications Function Manual battery disconnect + fuse holder (96V eSSA) Rated voltage 150 VDC (for 96V / 102.4V systems) Fuse rated current 200 A or 300 A (DC fast-acting; both sets included) Disconnect switch capacity Interrupts up to 300 A load current Short-time withstand current 15 kA Protection rating IP44 (install in a dry, clean compartment) Dimensions (L×W×H) 11.2 × 9.6 × 6.7 in (284 × 244 × 170 mm) Weight 11.5 lb (5.2 kg) Where it fits Every high-voltage marine battery system should have a way to isolate the bank and protect against short circuits — this unit does both in one place. It's an installer-grade safety component for X-Series, I-Series, and POD Drive eSSA builds, sitting between the G-Series battery bank and the rest of the system. Operate the disconnect only once the main circuit current has stopped — never switch under load. Warranty Covered by ePropulsion's 24-month limited warranty (from delivery to the first end customer) against defects in materials and workmanship under normal recreational use with proper installation and maintenance. Commercial or professional use is covered by your local statutory warranty instead. Blue Marine is an authorized ePropulsion dealer and will help with any claim. Support Professional installation is strongly recommended — this is high-voltage safety equipment. Schedule an online consultation and our ABYC-certified advisors will confirm the fuse rating and protection for your bank and motor.
