Sex Pistols 1980's - Tabloid Press Headlines 1976 Size: S – cut tag Measurements: 17" x 24" On December 1st, 1976, the Sex Pistols and their entourage appeared on Thames Television's teatime program hosted by Bill Grundy — an old-school, traditional broadcaster. At one point Grundy attempted to flirt with a teenage Siouxsie Sioux, which rightfully went sideways. Disgusted by Grundy hitting on a teenager, Steve Jones completely snapped and unleashed a barrage of profanity on live television. The morning after, the British tabloid press reacted with unprecedented fury. The headlines didn't just report on the incident — they treated it like an act of domestic terrorism.
