Vintage 60s Raffia Pillbox Hat • John Wanamaker

A rather lovely example of a typical early 60s Jackie Kennedy style pillbox hat, in a natural woven raffia. Made by John Wanamaker of Philadelphia. Completing the look with a pleated central star of black and cream crossgrain ribbon on top. This style of hat is designed to perch on the back of your head as the image illustrates, also can be worn over a bun and is usually best secured with a hat pin, however, as you can see a previous owner has added a head band to secure. You can remove this easily but I think it's a nice idea and easily hidden with your hair. Early 60s raffia pill box hat. Net lining. Made by John Wanamaker, Philadelphia.
