A marvellous 1960s 9 carat solid yellow gold mounted guillotine cigar cutter While the Americans have their 10/14ct gold and the Europeans their 18, 9ct remains very British The octagonal cutter boasts a hypnotic guilloché finish and features a gold bale allowing for wear from a chain through the button hole of a waistcoat or lapel of a jacket British hallmarks show us the piece was made by jewellers S J Rose & Son and was assayed in London in 1965 The stainless steel blade remains sharp and precise The aperture is an ideal size for Petit Corona or 42mm ring gauge cigars but will accommodate the cutting of the cap of larger smokes The resilient .375 gold fineness allows for everyday use with minor commensurate wear Weight - 24.6g Dimensions - 3.6 x 0.3 x 3.6cm
