(Erinnerungsmedaille für Rettung aus Gefahr). Instituted 22 June 1933 by Paul von Hindenburg. (1934-1945 issue). Constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle overlaid by a mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (“FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER”), situated within a circular oak leaf wreath, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by the Prussian Mint in Berlin, measuring 49.92 mm in diameter, weighing 55.8 grams, demonstrating edge nicks and bruising with some softening of features consistent with contact, in better than very fine condition.
