Workshop Series, Plague Doctor - Fretless - 3 String Cigar Box Guitar

Our simplest and most basic guitars, the "Workshop Series" fretless version. Plague Doctor graphics over veneered ply box. Derived from our highly successful "Make and Play" workshop guitars, these offer genuine playability and great tone at a bargain price. Poplar through neck with through body reinforcement stained black with an eco friendly blackwood fretboard. Inlaid fret markers and position dots on the top edge of the neck with a machine screw nut. Our guitar necks are fully profiled by hand using traditional methods for great playability and comfortable in-the-hand feel. Finished with hand rubbed shellac, gunstock oil and a final wax coat, burnished to a satin sheen. 25 1/2inch scale length. Zipha hexcore nickelwound strings. Tunned G. D, G. Single coil pickup wired direct to a high quality Neutrik jack. Quality chrome open back "Sta-Tite" pattern machine heads. Walnut fretwire bridge. Chrome strap buttons. Our most basic guitar, but still with the classic Chickenbone John playability and quality. With over two thousand guitars to our credit, and despite the low price, these are certainly not "wall hanger" guitars! How can we do it at this price? Over ten years of experience making and playing cigar box guitars goes into these instruments, so our workshop is lean, mean and efficient, but our instruments are still full of soul and passion.
