Vol 1, xx + 456 pp + 5 of 6 plates, vol 2, vii + pp 457-1016 + 1 plate*. Hardback. Original marbled paper-covered boards half bound with brown leather with gilt decoration on spine and gilt and lettering to green and dark brown spine labels. Moderately shelf worn and bumped. Leather split along front hinge of vol 1. Bindings sound. Original owner bookplate and later owner label inside cover of both volumes. Book plates and colour lithographed plates are foxed affecting contacted pages, otherwise text is clean and unmarked. In good condition. Plates are numbered curiously. Plates 1 and 2 are the frontispieces of their respective volumes. Plates 3 to 6 follow the preface in vol 1 in reverse order.
