Born into a musical family, he was a member of Deniece Williams' band, opening for many famous bands of the Motown era, before moving to Australia, where he continued to make a name for himself and, after returning to the United States, continued to work primarily as a music teacher. This work is one of three pieces he left behind at the end of his Australian period. The album features 8 relaxing guitar-centered tracks, including electronic-infused new age guitar piece "Things Of Beauty", raga-like meditative guitar solo "Pick 'N' Flow" and soft rock style "Honest Living" as suggested by the title, representing a return to the artist's roots.
