Cotton fabric scraps from garment factories and tailoring units in Bengaluru, and the handloom back, make this a one-of-a-kind. This quilt has prevented 1.85 kilograms of textile waste from reaching landfills and represents over 76 hours of meticulous work by skilled women artisans in rural north Karnataka. The hidden costs of water contamination, energy waste, and environmental destruction far outweigh the cost of a mindfully made upcycled product. The fabrics in this quilt come from multiple sources, handloom and powerloom cotton saved from going to waste. We recommend eco dry cleaning for the first two washes.
