Poseidon
In early Greek mythology, the world is divided up between the three sons of Cronos: Zeus gets the earth, Hades gets the underworld, and Poseidon gets the oceans. Poseidon was also known as “earth shaker” and was appealed to for protection from storms at sea. In his stories, he often took the form of a horse and even fathered the winged horse Pegasus. He is a vengeful and violent god; more feared than revered. His scent washes over us with an unusual combination of celery and Pine, two elements of his worship. It continues with a wave of seaweed, salt, and other oceanic ingredients to center him in his element. Finally, it ebbs into a blend of animalic musks and grains to relate him to his equine roots.
