Nashville Barrel Co. "Grateful Kelvin" 10-Year Single Barrel Bourbon - Selected by Seelbach's
Age: 10-years Source: MGP Proof: 125.02 proof Bottle count: 145 bottles Tasting notes: The nose is an explosion of marshmallow fluff, A&W Sparkling Vanilla Cream Soda, whipped cream, German chocolate cake, and gorgeous sweet oak. There’s a beautiful, silky fruitiness as well, but it’s more of a layer than the focus. The palate is huge. It drinks exactly like the nose, like a frosted mug of draft cream soda with a splash of bourbon, not the other way around. For a 36% rye, this drinks dangerously easy, filled with lighter notes of chocolate and beautifully balanced sweet oak. The finish is rich and silky, with gobs of cream soda, cream, and sweet oak lasting long. The longer it rests in the glass, the more it grows into those notes we love in dusty bourbons: salted caramel, butterscotch, perfumed antique oak, and exceptional balance.
