Original World War Two Italian National Fascist Farmers Confederation Pennant. The Pennant Measures approximately 22” x 13” The National Fascist Confederation of Farmers (Italian: Confederazione Nazionale Fascista degli Agricoltori, or CNFA) was the agricultural syndicate that represented landowners and commercial farmers in Benito Mussolini's corporatist state in Italy. Established in 1926, this organization played a pivotal role in the regime's economic policies and agrarian propaganda. The CNFA was part of Mussolini’s corporate state, which organized employers and employees into state-managed syndicates. The confederation stripped away independent labor unions and controlled agricultural labor disputes, wage-setting, and production quotas. The CNFA was heavily mobilized to support the Battaglia del grano (Battle of Wheat), a propaganda campaign launched in 1925 designed to make Italy entirely self-sufficient in grain production. The organization used the Latin motto "In campis vita" (Life is in the fields), which reflected the regime's efforts to romanticize rural life and glorify agricultural expansion.
