During the traditional Mevlüt ceremony held the day after the wedding, the bride, by covering only her mother-in-law (the groom's mother) with a veil adorned with Çakırdikeni needle lace, conveys the message "Don't prick me like a thorn"... The Çakır Dikeni needle lace dates from the early 20th century to the present day, and the region of origin for this lace is Çamlıyayla (Namrun) district of İçel province.
