Antique Staffordshire Sauceboat with Hand Painted Yellow Rose Garland

This sweet antique Staffordshire sauceboat immediately caught my eye with its pretty garland of hand-painted yellow roses. From the mid-19th century, it has the most charming little garden flowers and green leaves scattered among the roses, all set against warm cream-colored earthenware. The graceful shape and pretty handle make it especially lovely. This would make a charming addition to any collection of antique porcelain or a lovely, decorative accent on a mantel or shelf- the style plays nicely in a French Country home as well as an English country styled home. A wonderful example of the artistry of Staffordshire potters, preserving a piece of history and timeless beauty from the mid 1800's. Some appropriate age discoloration on the inside, marked on the bottom. Measures 7" x 4" x 4-1/2"h.
