Here we have a beautiful, vintage Japanese tea box/chest (Chabako) dating back to the mid 20th century. This chest features a rustic , industrial design by blending natural cedar wood with historic graphic labels. Historically, these boxes are lined with zinc, tin or aluminium foil to keep moisture out to preserve the tea during transport. A vibrant, aged turquoise or teal paper labels features on the front face with stylized black calligraphy translating to "tea". This tea chest would compliment any modern home particularly reproposed as a side table or storage box.
