Jennifer Packer: Tenderheaded *SOLD OUT*

SOLD OUT Jennifer Packer’s autumn 2017 Ren exhibition, Tenderheaded, was the artist’s first solo museum presentation and established her as one of the most compelling painters working today. Packer’s portraits and paintings of funerary bouquets exhibit a rigorous engagement with art history as well as a highly personal response to how black bodies navigate within the present political landscape. The first monograph devoted to Packer’s work, Tenderheaded includes documentation of the exhibition, a conversation between Packer and artist Kerry James Marshall, essays by Jessica Bell Brown and April Freely, a poem by Safiya Sinclair, and an introduction by curator Solveig Øvstebø.
