Can be grown in large pots and great for kids. Banana trees grow well in the sun tropical and tropical regions of Queensland. They do not tolerate frost and would need to be protected. Plant in rich soil with good drainage, water regularly but make sure the ground is not consistently soggy otherwise the roots will rot. Full sun or part shade. The shoots of the banana tree can be cut of with a shovel and replanted in other areas of your garden. Each stalk of a banana tree fruits once in its life and after fruiting, once a sucker shoot has emerged it should be cut down at the base.
