Foraging Medicine Bear

The summer season is in full swing but before you know it winter will have arrived. The cold months mean a deep sleep or torpor for Burt Awelagte's smiling Medicine-Bear who will need to gain a lot weight before then. By amassing great stores of fat for the winter, a planning bear will ensure survival until spring arrives and life reawakens. Turquoise inlaid eyes find the ripest acorns, juicy berries and other nutritious goodies. An offering bundle contains a freshwater blister pearl and turquoise beads. About 2 3/4" long, 5/8" wide and 2 1/8" tall, sculpted from colorful denim lapis.
