What You Need to Know Before Installing This is an important difference from HARMONIZE's adhesive-based tank pads: the HMZ-SR mounts by drilling into the fairing and securing with screws. This is a permanent modification, not a peel-and-stick accessory. A few things worth knowing before you order: Drilling jigs are included to guide accurate hole placement, but this still means drilling into your S1000R's fairing. This modification is not reversible in the way an adhesive pad is — once mounted, the mounting holes remain in the fairing even if you remove the winglets later. Check your extended warranty or aftermarket parts policy if applicable, since drilling into bodywork is a modification some warranty terms treat differently than adhesive accessories. If you're not comfortable drilling into your fairing yourself, this is a reasonable one to have installed by a shop or experienced mechanic. We'd rather you know this going in than be surprised by it after the kit arrives.
