Beads on a String — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving

Beads on a String is inspired by the extraordinary interacting galaxies known as the “Beads on a String” system, where brilliant regions of star formation appear strung along sweeping arcs created by the galaxies’ gravitational interaction. This colorway captures the fiery, luminous palette of its cosmic inspiration in fiber. Glowing orange, golden yellow, scarlet and brilliant pink blaze through the center of the braid before transitioning into burnished copper, dusty mauve and deep wine-burgundy. The contrast between incandescent brights and rich shadows creates dramatic stretches of color throughout the roving. For handspinners, those transitions offer plenty of room to play. Spin straight from the braid to allow the colors to move naturally through the finished yarn, divide the braid to repeat the sequence, or separate the colors for greater control over your final project. However you approach it, Beads on a String is designed to make the spinning itself part of the adventure.
