A NEW CHAPTER IN A CLASSIC DESIGN When creating the props for STAR TREK: Strange New Worlds, the production designers looked to STAR TREK: The Original Series for inspiration. Classic shapes and details were reinterpreted with a touch of retro-futurism, creating a design language that feels both unmistakably Star Trek and distinctly Strange New Worlds. THE REPLICA Factory Entertainment was granted access to the Paramount Star Trek archives, where the original Strange New Worlds communicator props were carefully studied. This research was supplemented by the original digital models and production video files used to create the hero props. Each replica is fully CNC machined from metal, with its finishes precisely matched to the production originals. The hero props used on screen contain no onboard audio, with their sounds added during post-production. For the replica, however, the production team provided the original screen-accurate audio effects and video effects, which have been integrated into the communicator replica to bring it to life, those features are: Active-On-Opening video & audio Digital Moiré Outgoing Hail Incoming Hail Subspace Interference A faithful recreation of one of Strange New Worlds’ most recognizable props, this communicator bridges the classic design heritage of The Original Series with the bold new vision of the 23rd century. Each communicator is presented in a wooden display case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity and sequentially numbered metal edition plaque.
