Neat Acoustics Vito Classic Floorstanding Speakers
Neat Acoustics builds loudspeakers by hand in Barnard Castle, County Durham. Bob Surgeoner started the company in 1989 as a hi-fi shop and moved to full-time manufacture in 1993. Measurements inform the work; the final judgement is made by ear. The Vito Classic is the largest model in the Classic range and sits at the top of it. It takes its name and its brief from the original Vito of the 1990s, a design Neat describes as well regarded among long-term owners for its scale, coherence and musical flow. The configuration is 2.5-way: an AMT tweeter above dual bass-mid drivers, with dedicated internal chambers for the bass, midrange and tweeter units. Separating the drivers into their own volumes keeps the midrange out of the pressure the bass drivers generate, which is the harder problem in a cabinet only 19 cm wide. Neat quotes 22 Hz to 22 kHz, 6 ohms nominal, and a recommended amplifier range of 25 to 200 watts. The cabinet stands 90 cm tall and 30 cm deep. Hand built in England. Priced per pair. Configuration: 2.5-way floorstander, dedicated chambers for bass, midrange and tweeter Drivers: AMT tweeter with dual bass-mid drivers Frequency Response: 22 Hz – 22 kHz Impedance: 6 ohms nominal Recommended Amplifier Power: 25 – 200 watts Dimensions (H × W × D): 90 × 19 × 30 cm Hand built in England.
