Nimue Scarf

A large square silk scarf printed with Art Nouveau muses drifting through peonies and blossom branches, on a warm ivory ground inside a taupe ornamental border.The artwork is drawn rather than photographed. Fine ink outlines hold each petal in place while the colour washes past them into blush, antique rose, ochre and deep burgundy, so the flowers read as painted silk rather than print. Between them, female figures surface and dissolve: a profile, a strand of pearls, a fall of hair that turns back into a peony. A narrow floral band frames the whole composition and a broad taupe border closes it.The silk is light and high in shine, so the print moves and re-forms with every fold.
