2024 Polperro Talland Hill Chardonnay Mornington Peninsula – Polperro grow, make and farm their vineyards using a philosophy of sustainability and regenerative agriculture, applying a mix of biological, biodynamic and organic practices. The Talland Hill vineyard is a warm and sheltered site and is the second of their single vineyard wines to pick each year. These vines produce bold Pinot Noirs, with powerful fruit and strong tannin structure. Chardonnay from this site is intense and mineral and tends to be a little less expressive early on in comparison to the Mill Hill vineyard. The Talland Hill Chardonnay shows up with a nose full of personality and expression. Cheesecloth, honeycomb, floral lift, chestnut, and fennel interplay, creating an expressive yet composed aromatic profile with a compelling push–pull tension. The palate is generous, layering ripe citrus with under-ripe yellow stone fruit, white nectarine, and poached apple.
