Wood and Silver Earrings by Lawrence Martin Kling

Lawrence Martin Kling's jewelry is known for its boomerang-like shapes, often combined with wood. In these earrings a curved piece of ebony is riveted to a silver boomerang, with a silver accent punctuating the wood. The rivets form a pattern on the back side of the earrings so they look good no matter how they are viewed. Lawrence Martin Kling (1921-2014) was a California studio jeweler known for his hand-wrought jewelry and sculptural, organic forms. Often his jewelry is accented with wood, as with these earrings.
