Belgian Funerary Hatchment (1933)

A large Belgian funerary hatchment framed oil on panel. This particular example would have been painted in 1933. We have been unable to identify the specific individual it relates to, despite having 1st May 1933 as the date of their passing. A bright and vibrant piece, produced (and signed) by a local artist (De Greef), that likely was displayed in the church for approximately 80-90 years, prior to being taken down.
