Monstera Deliciosa 'Thai Constellation'

The 'Thai Constellation' is a variegated version of the regular Monstera Deliciosa and features splattered areas of variegation with the occasional patch of solid creamy white. We find this variegation to be more stable that the 'Albo'. Is any home really complete without one of these guys?! More commonly known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, this popular houseplant is pretty adaptable to most conditions but will really flourish when kept in a moist and humid environment - this will also encourage it to grow larger leaves. Brighter light conditions encourage quicker growth and more fenestrations (holes in the leaves). You can use a damp cloth to wipe away any dust that settles on the large leaves to help the light reach them better. The Monstera is actually a vining plant, so as it grows larger it will need a moss pole or trellis to help support its weight, you will notice aerial roots growing from its stem as it tries to latch on and grow higher. An easy-care, air-purifying houseplant perfect for beginners. Care: Light: Bright indirect light will make the plant the happiest but also tolerant of a few hours of direct light. Water: Keep the soil moist, water when the top of the soil dries out, however more tolerant of being under watered than over watered. For best results water from underneath with the use of a saucer to reduce the chance of root rot. Reduce watering during winter months. Food: Use a high nitrogen fertiliser once a month during the growing season. Humidity: Benefits most being in a high humidity environment, however is tolerant of a normal household humidity. Quick Tip: Monstera aren't fans of being left in drafty locations so keep that in mind when picking the perfect spot for your new plant.
