3.5" Lavender Plant "Melissa"

(Lavandula angustifolia) So pretty-in-pink is Melissa! This 24-28" variety sends up 12"stems of pale-pink flowers with a deliciously sweet and spicy scent. It blooms in early summer and provides a lovely contrast when planted next to the darker blue and purple lavender varieties. The most favored place for photographs on the farm in summer is the "Unicorn" field just west of the farm store, with its staggered rows of Royal Velvet and Melissa. A culinary favorite of cooks for both sweet and savory dishes. It flowers take on a grey hue when dried, so Melissa is at her best in fresh arrangements or harvested at peak and dried for florets.
