Sustainable Saturdays: Hand stitching scrap busting quilt blocks
Join Wilhelmina Thomas to learn how to create beautiful hand stitched quilt blocks from your fabric scraps. Inspired by Kawandi quilted fabrics you will create a unique quilt block full of texture and personality. This free workshop is intended to help reduce textile waste in creative ways and keep textiles in use and out of the landfills. Wilhelmina Thomas is a Birmingham-based storyteller, craftivist, and founder of a nonprofit historical organization-Masonton. She utilizes textile arts and hand embroidery as primary mediums for community education and the preservation of historical narratives.
