Intro to Polesque

Saturday, August 30 | 3:00 PM | 90 minutes Step into the world where pole meets burlesque. This one-day workshop dives into burlesque basics — the history, the culture, the art of the peel, and the tease — exploring how storytelling and intention transform movement into performance. We’ll start with a discussion of burlesque as an art form, flow into a warm-up, and finish with a short choreography that brings it all together. The pole work is beginner-friendly, with one optional trick: a genie / handstand-style dismount for anyone who wants to play with it. Skipping the trick won’t take anything away from your experience. What to bring: An outer layer you can easily remove — a robe, button-up shirt, or anything with a little drama to it. Prerequisites: Comfort with a pole walk and hooking one knee.
