2021 Gibson Burkes Hill Riesling

Our Burkes Hill Riesling is a story of both a special site and a special friendship. The picturesque Burkes Hill vineyard sits just outside the township of Eden Valley, in the Barossa’s high country. A largely dry-grown vineyard on a gentle East facing slope, it produces Riesling of exceptional aromatic perfume and elegance, albeit in microscopic quantities. The 2021 Eden Valley vintage is widely regarded as one of the standout vintages over the past decade. The wines are defined by remarkable purity and finesse while having long aging potential. This Riesling is no different with limited development, straw in colour, the wine opens with bright aromas of cumquat, lemon pith and citrus oils creating an expressive and lifted bouquet. The palate is vibrant and precise driven by focussed acidity that provides energy and definition through to a long and mineral finish.
