Clack Brine Tank Overflow Elbow and Nut

The Clack Brine Overflow Fitting mounts through the side wall of a compatible water softener brine tank. It provides an emergency outlet for excess water if the brine level rises above its normal operating range. Connect 1/2-inch inside-diameter tubing to the elbow and route it by gravity to a suitable floor drain or other approved drainage location. The overflow line helps direct excess water away from the brine tank but does not prevent an overfill or replace the brine safety float assembly. Attach a separate 1/2-inch overflow tube and route it continuously downward to an approved drain. The overflow tubing must remain unrestricted and should terminate with an appropriate air gap where required by local plumbing regulations. Do not connect the brine tank overflow line directly to the water softener control-valve drain line, as drain pressure could force water backward into the salt tank. Important: This fitting provides an emergency overflow route only. If water is discharging through the fitting, inspect and repair the cause of the overfilling, such as a malfunctioning safety float, brine valve, refill control or control valve.
