Paula Borsetti begins her paintings without a destination, allowing the composition to unfold intuitively. Treating the canvas as a site of physical excavation, she builds up vibrant layers of coral, rose, and ochre before intentionally obscuring them. Repeating gestural motifs—scrawled loops and opaque archways—weave through the fluid paint as markers of her active, searching process, revealing fractured traces of geography, memory, and personal identity.
