It is both the "birthplace" of Arabica, and has seen coffee as a foundational part of the everyday way of life, as coffee has always been in Ethiopia. The Yirgacheffe region has become famous, as it is plentiful in thick vegetation, has a wam tropical climate, moderate wet and dry seasons, and a history of complex coffee profiles. Konga, 4 kilometers south of the town of Yirgacheffe, is a microregion supported by smallholder coffee farmers who deliver their crop to various washing stations, such as the Sede Washing Station, to be sorted, processed, and purchased. While this results in a virtually impossible task of tracing producers back to a specific farm or farmer, every effort is made to continue to purchase from the same washing stations every year. This Natural Process Ethiopia is sweet and floral, with notes of berry compote, earl grey tea, and jasmine.
