COB stands for Chip on Board. Hundreds of tiny chips sit directly on the circuit board beneath one continuous phosphor layer, so the strip reads as a line of light rather than a row of dots. 2700K is the warmest we make — the golden cast of an old filament bulb, for rooms you unwind in. 24V DC · 480 chips/m · 7.5W/m · 668 lm/m · Ra>90 · 10mm × 2mm · IP20 indoor · cut every 50mm · 7-year guarantee How far will one power supply take it? The board carries 3oz copper, 105 microns against the 35 microns standard tape uses. Less resistance means less voltage lost along the way, so one 24V feed holds twenty metres where thinner tape gives out around five. Which driver does it need? Take the run in metres, multiply by 7.5W, add a quarter, round up. It must be constant voltage — constant-current units share the name, drive this badly and shift its colour. A 5 metre run needs a 60W driver, 10 metres a 100W, and a full 20 metres a 200W. Where does it cut? Marked copper pads every 50mm, twenty per metre, each segment lighting independently once separated. The 150mm lead arrives fitted. Never run it while still wound on the reel: the heat cannot escape and the adhesive fails. Where can it not go? There is no ingress protection here whatsoever. Dry interiors only — cabinets, coves, profiles, stair runs. Bathrooms, outdoors and anywhere above a hob need IP67. Check a profile's internal channel too; plenty sold as 10mm measure 8.5mm inside. Is 2700K too yellow? Only where the eye expects neutral light. Beside 3000K it reads visibly more amber, which flatters timber and plaster and does nothing for a worktop. In a living room or bedroom that warmth is the entire point. Right for: living rooms, bedrooms, snugs, headboards, shelf lighting after dark. Wrong for: worktops and workshops, where colour accuracy matters — take 4000K. Every length is custom cut to your exact requirement from a 20 metre roll. A full 20 metre run takes power from one end only and holds its brightness the whole way.
