Copper skillets are a new product for Copper State Forge, and we are proud to announce that our first one is a collaboration with chef and creator Corre Larkin. Corre designed the handle with inspiration from the blacksmith-forged handles of 18th- and 19th-century Italy and France, shaped for the way real cooks hold, lift, and pour. This tin-lined copper skillet pairs that timeless craftsmanship with a genuinely useful design. Our “Hybrid” shaped pan started as a fun experiment, but has quickly become a customer favorite for its everyday usefulness in the kitchen. Our unique shape combines the ideal pour spouts from a polygon skillet with the sautéing ability and “off-ramp” of a classic round pan. Now we’ve brought that same idea to life in gleaming copper with robust “French Wipe” tinning. Tin is an inert metal that does not react with acids and is very non-stick without any harmful chemicals. This is the traditional cookware professional kitchens have prized for centuries for its responsive, even heat. We’re excited to offer it as a skillet that’s perfect for delicate, precise cooking—gentle sauces, reductions, acidic foods, and anything that rewards controlled heat. Plus, it’s as beautiful to display as it is to cook in. This Copper Skillet works on gas, glass and coil electric, open fire, in the oven, on the grill, in the smoker, and in the wood burning oven. Does not work on Induction. If you have never cooked with tin lined copper before you will want to get familiar with a few of the techniques and nuances that are unique to these types of pans before your first cook! Add a Flat French style carbon steel lid to your order! This tin-lined copper lid is cut to match the shape of your skillet with a small overhang to account for hand-forged variability. We forge a smaller version of our skillet handle that matches the style of the skillet and attach it with two copper rivets. It works great for splatter control, reducing moisture loss, and creating a little additional convection heating inside your skillet.
