Echo Meter Touch 2 PRO Bat Detector
Echo Meter Touch 2 Bat Detector Turn your smartphone or tablet into a professional bat detector, available in Standard and PRO versions for real-time monitoring and high-fidelity recordings. Echo Meter Touch 2 PRO Bat Detector Tutorial Videos The Echo Meter Touch 2 (Standard and PRO) transforms your smartphone or tablet into a professional bat detection tool. Designed for researchers, environmental consultants, and wildlife enthusiasts, it provides high-fidelity recordings with noise reduction and enhanced bat call capture. Compatible with Android devices (USB-C or Micro-USB) and iOS, it works in the field without an internet connection. It includes real-time listening modes, interactive spectrograms, geolocation, and automatic species suggestions using Bat Auto-ID technology. Bat echolocation calls are ultrasonic and generally inaudible to humans. The Echo Meter Touch 2 combines a specialized microphone with advanced circuitry and software to convert these ultrasonic calls into audible sounds. Calls are displayed on a scientific-grade interactive spectrogram. Users can pause the audio, zoom in on recordings, and listen using one of three professional modes: Real-Time Expansion (RTE), Heterodyne, and Post-Recording Time Expansion. Both Standard and PRO models allow real-time bat monitoring, probable species identification, echolocation visualization, tracking of recording locations on maps, and easy sharing of findings. The PRO version adds greater sensitivity, electronic noise reduction, and advanced recording options, while the Standard version provides reliable professional performance for bat research and observation. Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) SNR measures the volume of bat calls relative to background and electronic noise in a recording. A bat detector with a high SNR is preferred because it can capture weak or distant calls. This graph compares the SNR of the EMT 2 PRO and EMT 2 at different frequencies. Because the EMT 2 PRO has a higher SNR, it is more likely to record high-frequency bats (above 60 kHz). Sensitivity and Noise This graph shows the microphone sensitivity and electronic noise produced by the EMT 2 PRO and EMT 2 across the recording bandwidth. The difference between these values determines the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Directionality Directionality indicates how many decibels (dB) are lost as a bat moves away from the microphone's most sensitive area. The EMT 2 PRO and EMT 2 detect bats broadly in front of you while minimizing echoes reflected from your body. Key Features Listen to and record bat vocalizations in real time. Automatically identify the most likely bat species using the free Echo Meter Touch app for iOS and Android. View echolocation calls in real time with an interactive spectrogram. Track recording locations and routes on zoomable maps. Easily share recordings and discoveries via text message or email. Low-noise microphone that captures weak or distant calls while reducing false positives. Professional audio modes: Real-Time Expansion (RTE), Heterodyne, and Post-Recording Time Expansion. Fully customizable settings: gain, trigger sensitivity, minimum and maximum frequency, and more. Free app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, with spectrograms, maps, and acoustic analysis features. Note: Requires an iOS or Android device with a USB-C port. iOS devices with a Lightning port are not compatible (including with an adapter). Android devices with a Micro-USB port require an approved OTG adapter. Includes a USB-C extension adapter for use with phone and tablet cases.
