TEXAS BLUEBONNET Hand Dyed on Feather Fingering - Ikat Yarn

If you have ever driven along a Texas highway in the spring and seen bluebonnets blooming in veritable carpets of color, you'll understand the love we have for our beautiful state flower. Texas Bluebonnet is an Ikat colorway with mostly the purplish-blue of the bluebonnets and short bands of light fuchsia, really light green, light blue, and white. I created a couple of new dye colors to get this just right. YARN BASE I used Feather Fingering as the yarn base. Feather Fingering is made of 85% extra-fine non-superwash merino wool and 15% silk. It's a 2-ply yarn with a lot of yardage. It's great for sweaters, shawls, hats, and more. Just be aware that it should be hand-washed in cold water so it doesn't felt. On the other hand, it's great for weavers and others who want to full their cloth.
