Woven Threads of Connection
Woven Threads of Connection reflects Glennys Briggs’ deep commitment to preserving and sharing the stories, knowledge and cultural connections passed down through generations of her family. A proud Tunguwurung, Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri Elder, Glennys draws inspiration from the teachings of her parents, grandparents and ancestors, whose stories continue to inform her artistic practice. Depicting woven baskets, the work speaks to the interconnected nature of family, community and culture. The woven forms become a powerful metaphor for the relationships and shared histories that bind people together across generations. As Glennys explains, “”Our stories, our connection to each other, and how those stories are intertwined are all important. This work honours those long intertwined connections.”” Through printmaking, Glennys continues her lifelong commitment to passing on cultural knowledge, ensuring these stories remain strong for future generations. This print was created as part of Kaiela Arts’ 2026 Bupolga Collection with artwork by Glennys Briggs and screen-printing by Spacecraft and Tarn Parker.
