Structure, drawn in thread — at the scale of a bed. The Ladder bed cover takes the same stitched cloth as the cushion and gives it three metres square to work with. Fine stitched bands run horizontally across undyed cotton at even intervals, panels joined by hand, so the pattern is made entirely by the hands that made the piece — nothing printed, nothing woven in. At three metres by three, it drapes a king with enough left to fall properly at the sides. The weight is right for a coverlet: substantial enough to hold its line across the bed, light enough to live under in warm weather. Two available.
