AR-coated optical glass — The anti-reflective layer suppresses the flare and ghosting that bare glass introduces when you shoot into the sun, oncoming headlights or a dive torch. Pinch-and-twist bayonet lock — Adhesive-free. Squeeze the two textured grips, seat the guard, rotate a quarter turn to lock. It comes off just as cleanly, leaving no residue on the lens rim. Sealed against grit — The ring closes against the lens rim so sand and dust cannot migrate into the gap, where trapped grit would otherwise grind the lens coating every time the guard shifts. Wipe with a microfiber cloth, then blow off any remaining dust. Grit sealed underneath a guard is the one thing that will show up in your footage. Pinch and seat. Squeeze the two textured grips on the ring, line the guard up over the lens and press it on evenly rather than at an angle. Twist a quarter turn. Rotate until the blue index mark sits horizontal. That is the locked position — the guard will not back off on its own. Check the screen. The X6 displays a lens-guard icon once it has identified the pair. No icon means the guard is not fully seated: unlock, reseat and twist again. Repeat on the second lens. Run both guards together. Fitting only one leaves the two lenses optically mismatched.
