ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP In this one-day workshop, we're making The Tee Shirt from Merchant & Mills. The T-shirt is probably the world's most popular garment, presented here as a smart, contemporary evolution of a wardrobe staple. The Tee Shirt is a smart combination of a woven fabric with a stretch rib neck, a breast pocket and optional rolled up sleeves. WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS WORKSHOP Adults (16+) Beginner: Some sewing experience always helps, but it's OK if you are super new to sewing! As a bonus, you'll get experience working with both woven and knit fabrics in this workshop. WHAT TO BRING/ WHAT'S INCLUDED All fabric, thread, patterns, and suplies needed to make The Tee Shirt are included. Participants will have their own machine to use for the day, but can bring their own if they wish. Please make sure you have a needle and a bobbin that fit your machine, and that you've confirmed it's in working order before bringing it in. INSTRUCTOR Miri SKILLS YOU'LL LEARN Taking proper measurements & interpreting a size chart Using a pattern, basic alterations (grading between sizes, adding or removing length) Cutting techniques: rotary cutting Sewing machine techniques Serger basics Working with both woven and stretchy knit fabrics Inserting a sleeve Adding patch pockets Topstitching tips for success Hemming techniques And more!
