Academy 1/48 scale USAAF P-40N Battle of Imphal model kit Characteristics Condition Opened, Complete inside Scale 1/48 Manufacturer Academy Size of the box 30 x 20 x 6 cm EAN 8809258926832 Description The Curtiss P-40N Warhawk was the final and most mass-produced variant of the iconic American World War II fighter aircraft. Introduced in 1943, the P-40N was designed to be lighter and faster than its predecessors by stripping excess weight, removing some wing guns, and using lightweight fuel tanks. Powered by an Allison V-1710 liquid-cooled engine, the P-40N could reach top speeds of around 378 mph (608 km/h). It was primarily used by the USAAF, the Royal Air Force, and Allied forces in the Pacific, China-Burma-India (CBI), and Mediterranean theaters. Known for its heavy armament—typically six .50-caliber machine guns—and its ability to carry bombs or rockets for ground-attack missions, the P-40N served as a versatile fighter-bomber until the end of the conflict.
