Hand dyed silk with hammered copper mixed media panel

Bursting with energy, this mixed media piece named "Energy Shield" beautifully incorporates silk satin that has been dyed with metal and the strong texture of recycled, hammered copper. This piece explores the contrast of soft and hard and allows the viewer to consider how often thought of opposites can come together to create a cohesive work. The Energy Shield is attached to a black fabric covered wood panel by hand made copper prongs. Energy Shield measures 18” x 30” x 1.5” on a wooden panel and weighs approximately 5 lbs.
