There is a small amount of simple hand sewing, which older children will be able to do themselves, while younger children can easily complete with the help of a grown-up. We’ll guide you every step of the way. 🎃 About the Plush Pumpkin Family Workshop Led by Toni, you’ll discover how to transform a simple circle of fabric into a gorgeous decorative pumpkin. Choose from a beautiful collection of seasonal fabrics, including luxurious velvets, tactile bouclés and other cosy autumn textures in a range of gorgeous autumn colours. You’ll then: ✨ Learn a simple running stitch around the edge of your fabric ✨ Fill your pumpkin with weighted pellets and soft stuffing for a beautifully realistic shape ✨ Pull your stitches tight to create your pumpkin ✨ Use complementary yarn to shape your pumpkin into natural segments ✨ Create and attach your own decorative pumpkin stalk ✨ Finish with sparkling gems, beads, ribbons and seasonal embellishments Whether you prefer elegant neutrals, rich autumn colours or glamorous jewel tones, every pumpkin will be completely unique. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Workshop Information Price is per session, so you can make as many pumpkins as you want or spend your time making your pumpkin as decorative as you like. Recommended age: 6+ (Younger children are very welcome with adult assistance.) The hand sewing is simple and relaxing, making it a wonderful introduction to sewing for children. 🎨 Design Your Own Pumpkin Collection Your ticket includes all the materials needed to create your first luxury plush pumpkin. If you finish quickly, you’re welcome to: 🎃 Make additional pumpkins in different fabrics and colours (subject to workshop time and materials) or ✨ Spend your time adding beautiful embellishments including beads, crystals, ribbons and decorative foliage to create a truly one-of-a-kind seasonal decoration. After your workshop, why not make a day of it? Visit the National Trust café for lunch or coffee, enjoy an autumn woodland walk, or explore the historic Hughenden Manor. National Trust membership is not required to attend the workshop, although normal admission charges apply if non-members wish to visit the house and gardens after the session. 🚗 Arrival Information 🚗 Free parking is available in the National Trust visitor car park. 🕙 Please arrive by 10:00am to allow time for the walk from the car park. 📍 Meet at Visitor Reception, where a member of the Hughenden team will guide you to the workshop venue.
